Who we are
CircuitDrive Automotive Ltd, trading as CircuitDrive Automotive, provides mobile automotive coding, CarPlay activation, infotainment upgrades and retrofits. We are responsible for the personal information collected for these services. For privacy questions or requests, email enquiries@circuitdrive.co.uk.
Information we collect
We collect the information you provide through our enquiry form, email, phone or WhatsApp: your name, phone number, email address, postcode or service location, vehicle registration, make, model, year, infotainment details, requested service and correspondence. If you choose to upload vehicle photographs, we collect those too. Please avoid including people, identity documents or unrelated personal information in photographs.
Our hosting services may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details and request logs to operate and protect the website. The enquiry form does not collect payment card details.
How and why we use your information
- We use your contact and vehicle details, photographs and enquiry information to assess compatibility, answer questions, prepare quotes and arrange bookings. This helps us take steps at your request before entering a contract.
- We use relevant details to travel to the agreed location, provide your requested service and deliver support required under our agreement with you.
- We keep necessary service and correspondence records for our legitimate interests in resolving queries, handling complaints and protecting our business. Security logs help us prevent misuse.
- We retain records needed to meet legal obligations, including applicable accounting requirements.
We do not use your enquiry as permission for unrelated marketing. If we ask for consent for another purpose, such as publishing an identifiable vehicle photograph, you can withdraw that consent by contacting us. Compatibility decisions are reviewed by a person; we do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated processing.
Storage, security and sharing
Website enquiries are stored in a hosted database and uploaded photographs in separate object storage. Enquiries and photographs are not published in the portfolio or made available through public download links. We use encrypted website connections and restrict access to the systems used to handle enquiries. No online system can guarantee absolute security.
We do not sell your information. Where necessary, providers of website hosting, database and file storage, email and communications, or professional support may process relevant information to help us operate the business. We only share information needed for that purpose, or where required by law. If you contact us through WhatsApp, its service also processes your information under its own privacy terms.
If a provider processes your information outside the UK, UK data protection rules require an appropriate transfer basis, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards. You can contact us for information about providers and safeguards relevant to your enquiry.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry details while assessing your vehicle and handling follow-up questions. Retention depends on whether you proceed with a booking, whether support or a complaint remains open, and any relevant legal record-keeping requirement. Photographs are retained only while needed for compatibility, installation or support. Service and financial records may need to be kept longer to meet accounting obligations or deal with claims. Information should be deleted or anonymised when these purposes no longer require it; you can ask us to review the information held about you.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, depending on the circumstances and the reason for processing, you may ask to access your information, correct inaccuracies, delete information, restrict its use, receive a portable copy or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Email enquiries@circuitdrive.co.uk to make a request. We may need to verify your identity. Requests are normally answered within one month, with extensions or exceptions explained where the law allows. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Website technologies and changes
Hosting and security services may use necessary technologies to deliver and protect this website. If you accept advertising cookies, we load Meta Pixel to measure website visits and successful enquiries and help us understand and improve Facebook and Instagram advertising. Meta may receive information such as your browser details, IP address, page visits and whether you submitted an enquiry; we do not send your form entries or uploaded photos through the Pixel. We do not load the Pixel when you reject non-essential cookies. You can change your choice using “Cookie preferences” in the footer. Meta processes the information it receives under its own privacy terms. Links to other services are covered by their own privacy policies. We will update this page if our practices change.
